Get prepared for the upcoming painting and workshop season!
How many times have you been standing in front of your easel, and thought How am I going to mix that color?
In many workshops, you get some idea how the instructor is mixing color, but let’s face it, they usually paint fast to get through the demo. It looks easy until you get in front of your own easel. Slow it down with award winning painter, Tracey Frugoli, as she presents this hands-on workshop designed to give you intensive experience mixing paint, plus an under-standing about various brushes and how they can be used.
You will become familiar with the properties of your own palette of colors in addition to any new colors you bring to try. Tracey will give you her own insights about how to simplify color mixing, and you will learn to mix darks, lights, grays, browns, and “clean” colors. In addition, you will end your confusion about which brush to use and how to use it. Tracey will guide you as you experiment with many of the various brush types (available to try at this workshop), and as you begin to understand the ways brushwork can enhance your painting. You’ll leave the weekend with a leg up the next time you face down a bank canvas!
Tracey has exhibited throughout the United States, and was accepted into the prestigious Greenhouse Gallery’s “Salon International 2005” in San Antonio, Texas. Her work hangs in numerous private collections, and appeared in the February 2004 American Artist and May 2005 Plein Air Magazine. Tracey writes for American Artist's special quarterly periodical Workshop; and is the current Illinois/Midwest Regional Editor for Fine Art Connoisseur (formerly Plein AirMagazine).
