In her traditional still life paintings, Jane Hartley combines her graphic design background with her appreciation of the old masters. She uses hand-ground pigments, black oil and glazes, and surfaces prepared with rabbit skin glue and white lead. These ingredients give Jane's paintings an unmistakable rich luminosity. Jane received her Bachelor of Fine Art from Maryland Institute College of Art and has continued her education through apprenticeships and independent studies.
Jane's work is in private and corporate collections throughout the East.
