Ed Ahlstrom is a professor in the Art Department of Montgomery College where he teaches landscape painting, portraiture, and watercolor. He received a BFA and MFA from the School the Art Institute of Chicago. Ed also studied in the Department of Conservation of the Art Institute where he developed his knowledge of painting materials and methods.
The recipient of numerous awards and grants for his works, including a Fulbright-Hays Grant to Belgium and the Netherlands and a Maryland Arts Council Grant for Painting; Ed's work is in both public and private collections, and is widely published.
Ed is a member of the Washington Society of Landscape Painters
